Regional General Manager

As a Regional General Manager, will be responsible for providing leadership, support and expertise to a group of stores within a specific region.

Your primary responsibilities are to drive top line sales and maximize profit, minimize shrink and provide high level of execution of our Golf Town operating model consistently within the network of stores. Your leadership style connects with our core values and leadership brand. You will show initiative and demonstrate team leadership skills, while ensuring stores are executing on key strategic priorities and held accountable for the results.

Role Responsibilities

Results & Customer Experience Leadership
  • Drive results for the region by ensuring each store is meeting or exceeding operational standards, implementing best practices, and analyzing both successes and failures for future opportunities
  • Articulate the company's vision and demonstrates personal commitment to desired customer experience, and actively supports a results driven culture
  • Show a willingness to be a highly visible sales and customer experience champion, and provides effective performance coaching to managers and associates
  • Ensure stores consistently execute a high-quality in-store holistic shopping experience for customers
  • Foster a customer focused environment that empowers stores to effectively resolve customer issues at the lowest appropriate levels, while ensuring timely and effective resolution of any issues escalated to the regional level
  • Stay current on market trends and changing customer needs and adjusts business strategy by communicating trends and opportunities
  • Demonstrate a passion for customer service and can easily articulate how that translates into sales

Planning & Managing Execution
  • Conducts store visits to ensure timely and consistent execution of all company initiatives in each location
  • Partners to develop tactics and strategies with Regional and SSC support staff to support business objectives
  • Reinforce relevant communications to align store, regional and corporate initiatives to all key stakeholders
  • Acts as a change agent to facilitate change and champion company programs and objectives
  • Responsible for basic repair and maintenance requirements for their region and managing within allocated budgets

Profit Management
  • Drive business results by managing P/L statements, analyzing reports and key metrics, and controlling payroll, shrink, and expenses
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels and ensure timely actions are taken where appropriate
  • Appropriately allocate payroll funds and actively manages regional results to meet established targets
  • Train and coach management on effective scheduling techniques to maximize efficiency, ensure labor spend is aligned with sales goals and execution of non-selling tasks
  • Maintain optimized store rosters and headcount
  • Partner with merchandise and marketing to ensure market specific needs are met

Team Development
  • Promote a culture that reflects Golf Town's core values, and ensures a positive team environment for all associates
  • Recruit, hire, develop and retain store rosters through the development of store general managers
  • Utilize appropriate performance management techniques, and engage the people team and other partners as required to help train, develop, coach and counsel managers and associates, as well as reward and recognize individual and team performance
  • Effectively develop, execute and sustain succession planning to ensure all team members are well-suited for their position and help them maximize their performance

What you offer

  • Minimum of five years of multi-unit management experience
  • University degree or equivalent retail experience
  • Valid driver's license with a reliable vehicle and ability to travel to stores within a designated region
  • Knowledge of a multi-store environment including retail sales and customer service skills, P/L management, people management skills including participating in the recruitment, selection, and orientation of staff, as well as coaching and counseling team members
  • Proficient in interpersonal skills, including conflict management, team building, and information gathering
  • Strong communication skills written and verbal
  • Bilingualism is an asset
  • Willingness to relocate is an asset
